On convergence rate of Three-step Iterative Schemes in Banach Spaces

Abstract

In this article, we compare the three step iterative schemes for a class of Zamfirescu operator in Banach space. We show that for the class of the operator, the CR and SP iterative schemes are faster than Noor and Ishikawa iterative schemes. Moreover, we present various numerical examples using MATLAB program. Our results shown that as far as the rate of convergence is concerned, the CR iterative scheme is the best for increasing functions , while SP iterative scheme is the best for decreasing functions. The result obtained from the numerical computation also confirm the theoretical analysis.
